Get inspired by the incredible women scientists at the BSN
In celebration of UNESCO's International Day of Women and Girls in science we're highlighting all the ways in which you can get inspired by the women scientists at the British Society for Neuroendocrinology.
In our Brainwaves blog series we interview eminent scientists within our Society on their tips and reflections for a career in neuroendocrinology. Enjoy reading this selection of Brainwaves blogs from our women scientists:
- Brainwaves: Interview with Dr Michelle Bellingham on excitement about unexpected results and new research ideas, the importance of learning new things and why kindness goes a long way.
- Brainwaves: Interview with Dr Jane Robinson on the people who inspired her research into the reproductive neuroendocrine axis, how the working environment has changed during her time as a scientist and about how she was once knocked out by a ram!
- Brainwaves: Interview with Associate Professor Helen Christian on her work on the feedback control of the pituitary, surprising research findings and why she will never skimp on giving feedback to the next generation of neuroendocrinologists.
Our Lab Notes blog series celebrates scientists who have recently started their own laboratory. Read how these women scientists did it:
Our Annual Meetings regularly showcase the work of women neuroendocrinologists through symposia panels and plenary lectures. Watch the recordings of some of the most inspiring lectures from leading women scientists at our meetings:
