Watch talks from Bob Millar's Festschrift

Watch talks from Bob Millar's Festschrift

Presentations from a Festschrift celebrating the work of Professor Bob Millar are now available to watch for BSN members.

The festschrift for Bob Millar took place on 2-3 February 2024 at Berg-en-Dal rest camp in the world-renowned Kruger National Park in South Africa.

A Festschrift is a volume of articles, essays, etc., contributed by many authors in honour of a colleague, usually published on the occasion of retirement or important anniversary.

The two-day meeting, organised by Mike Ludwig and Claire Newton, featured presentations from Bob's former mentors, mentees and colleagues, as well as those who have collaborated closely with Bob over the past 60 years of his career.

About Professor Robert (Bob) Millar

After 60 years in science Bob will retire at the end of 2024. Over the course of his career, he has diligently explored, and shed light on, the intricate workings of reproductive regulation in both humans and other animals. With a collaborative spirit, insightful contributions, and scholarly expertise, he has made significant contributions to the field of neuroendocrinology. Bob's accomplishments in biomedical research are exceptional both in the fundamental discoveries he has made and also in his ability to translate them into clinical practice for the therapy of reproductive health and hormone-dependent diseases. This festschrift served as a well-deserved recognition of his long and fruitful journey as an academic and researcher and was also forward-looking, in highlighting new developments, unsolved puzzles, oddities and controversies within this broad field of research.

Bob Millar is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Neuroendocrinology's Translational and Clinical Medicine strand.
