We're hiring! Society Support Officer Vacancy

The British Society for Neuroendocrinology (BSN) is a small, but thriving, community working to support science and scientists. We are looking for a Society Support Officer - our first salaried staff member - to join a friendly and supportive team of Trustees and freelances as the BSN continues to grow. The role will involve providing admin and project management support for a range of activities, from membership, grants and the annual conference to individual projects such as EDI initiatives. The successful candidate will be able to work from home with substantial flexibility about hours and will be able to use their initiative to develop the role. Although most work is from home, there will be at least one opportunity a year to meet colleagues face to face, while attending the annual conference.

Essential skills:

  • either experience of working for a learned society or an understanding of societies gained as a bioscience student/academic;
  • good written and verbal articulacy;
  • the ability to work productively with a range of people, including senior academics;
  • the ability to manage projects and to multitask;
  • a mature attitude;
  • good general IT skills.

Desirable skills

  • experience of membership,
  • conference and/or grants administration;
  • experience of working in a bioscience environment.
